Raising the antithesis

Most mornings, I let the boys wake me up. Typically, I am up late studying and want every last minute of sleep time. Collin is a very early riser. Normally, he gets out of bed and entertains himself with various projects until Miles rolls out of bed about an hour later. The other day, they both woke early. They were playing on the landing outside my bedroom, and I heard this discussion:

Miles: “I don’t like the dark; it’s scary.”

Collin: “The dark isn’t scary MILES. Besides, your pupils dilate so that they let more light in, and you can see better.”
